Information about committees is available in Article 16 of the union bylaws. Members who are interested in serving on a committee can submit a request to the Executive Board outlining their interest. All appointments will be made in January and will be for a one (1) year period.

    Negotiating Committee

    The Negotiating Committee is a special ad-hoc committee that is established at least two months prior to the expiry of the Local’s Collective Agreement and
    automatically disbanded when a new Collective Agreement has been signed. The function of the Committee is to prepare collective bargaining proposals and to negotiate a collective agreement. The Committee shall consist of the President and four (4) members from and elected by the current Executive Board. The CUPE National Representative assigned to the Local shall be a non-voting member of the Committee.
